LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two major museums in Los Angeles announced plans to launch a career retrospective of art photographer Robert Mapplethorpe's work next year. The J. Paul Getty Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art said Thursday the exhibition will open simultaneously in March at both venues. From there, it will travel to venues in Montreal, Sydney and a third, yet-to-be-announced international destination. The show will examine the erotic, sometimes controversial work of the photographer from its beginnings until his death.
