Savannah-Chatham police investigating fatal Saturday wreck

Traffic investigators from the Savannah-Chatham police are investigating the collision of a pedestrian and vehicle that left a 59-year-old woman dead Saturday night. Cynthia Denise Bridges was declared dead at Memorial University Medical Center after she was struck by a car on Abercorn Street just east of Largo Drive about 11:35 p.m., said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman. She was crossing the eastbound lanes of Abercorn outside of the crosswalk in dark clothing when she was struck by a 2004 Dodge Neon driven east by a 20-year-old Savannah woman. Metro’s Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
