NY puts fisher management plan out for public comment

Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens says fishers have expanded their range into central and western New York and are flourishing there as well as in other forested regions. The proposed management plan includes reducing the trapping season in the Adirondacks from 46 days to 22 days, and establishing a limited nine-day trapping season in central and western New York.
