DES MOINES — Gov. Terry Branstad on Monday applauded New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s veto of a ban on crates that limit the mobility of pregnant pigs and insisted the potential presidential candidate’s decision was not politically motivated. Late last week, Christie vetoed legislation that would have banned small metal crates that constrain pregnant pigs.
