“Kamala Harris’ campaign outraised Donald Trump by more than 3-to-1 in September, with the vice president’s massive $222 million haul further extending her financial advantage in the final stretch of a tight presidential election,” Politico reports.
“Harris’ campaign notably did not announce its September figures ahead of Sunday’s deadline to file with the Federal Election Commission, as it had in previous months, amid reported concerns that strong fundraising numbers could discourage donors.”
“In a biography set to publish a week before the election, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell backed special counsel Jack Smith and said he hopes former President Trump will ‘pay a price’ for his role in Jan. 6th,” Axios reports.
Said McConnell: “If he hasn’t committed indictable offenses, I don’t know what one is.”
He added: “There’s no doubt who inspired it, and I just hope that he’ll have to pay a price for it.”
Roger Friedman: “Just so everyone is on the same page: Today’s stunt at a McDonald’s was staged by Donald Trump and his campaign. The McDonald’s in Feasterville, PA (is that really the name of the town?) was CLOSED according to a letter posted by the owner, Derek Giacomantonio. He said the campaign asked for it.”
“So all the press who covered this sham of an event should be mentioning the closure in their stories.
“Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) engaged in a tense text exchange last week,” Axios reports..
“Johnson told Axios in an exclusive interview on Saturday that he reached out to Cheney — a former close ally and friend — after she took aim at him on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ over certifying the election.”
“Johnson said the two ‘agreed to disagree’ over whether Trump is a threat to democracy.”
“Cheney disputed Johnson’s characterization of the exchange, telling Axios that she and the speaker used to be friends, but we did not ‘agree to disagree.’”
CBS News released a statement:
“Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false…”
“Remember, Mr. Trump pulled out of his interview with 60 Minutes and the vice president participated.”
