The Saturday Auburn farmers market just opened at 8 a.m. and it’s already crowded with shoppers. There’s a chill in the air and those with light jackets pull them closer. The tomatoes, sweet corn and summer squash have given way to beets, carrots, pomegranates, persimmons and pears. The bouquets of sunflowers and snapdragons have been replaced with asters, strawflowers and chrysanthemums.
