Accidents waiting to happen Re: “Why make toll lanes confusing?” Oct. 3 letter to the editor. The reader from Golden is spot on about the confusing and convoluted entry to C-470 from any direction, Interstate 25 North or South, or E-470 from the east. I make that entrance to C-470 several times a month.

We have been hearing a lot about the filibuster here lately out of both political camps. When most Americans hear the word “filibuster,” they picture marathon speeches designed to obstruct a vote in Congress. They may have a perception of it as a dirty trick to undermine the regular order. Perhaps this is why many don’t bat an eye when they hear both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump floating the idea of ending the Senate filibuster should they become president.

Dear Eric: My brother and sister-in-law visit infrequently, usually only once or twice a year, including a major holiday. After each visit I tell my husband that we will not host them again. In the past, their arrival/departure times have been inconvenient. They converse loudly after others have retired for the evening or before others have risen in the morning.

While the medical world is stressing awareness of mental illness and the availability of treatment, Boulder’s lawyer establishment forged forward to obtain a guilty of murder verdict on a person judged to be mentally ill at the time of the King Soopers shooting but who was then drugged sufficiently to be called sane enough to stand trial. Schizophrenia can be treated with drugs, but this after-the-fact judgment seems more an act of vengeance than humanely dealing with medical reality.
