Savannah man indicted for murder in July slaying of Port Wentworth resident

A Savannah man on Wednesday was indicted on murder and related charges in the June slaying of Arkeen Abron of Port Wentworth and non-fatal shootings of two other men. Leonardo Lamont “Scoochie” Anderson, 38, caused the death of Abron, 29, by shooting him, the Chatham County grand jury determined in returning a malice-murder charge. The indictment stemmed from a July 18 shooting in the 1200 block of Seiler Avenue that killed 29-year-old and left two others wounded. In addition to the malice murder count, the grand jury indicted Anderson on felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
