One chief said the actual fire was not as severe as they originally thought but was still enough to do plenty of damage. It originated from an upstairs unit, and crews cut the power to the building as the firefight began. He said the heavy smoke made it difficult to find the fire at first, but crews were able to quickly locate and contain the flames.
