Comment on Should race sway college admission?

The court's decision this week to let states decide whether affirmative action should be part of the college admission criteria means that more consideration for academics and not ethnicity could be part of the admission process. Sherry Benoit, the associate vice president of enrollment management at Lamar, said the decision will affect schools much larger than Lamar, like the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University, where enrollment caps create standards that admissions officials must adhere to in order to ensure diversity on campus.
