‘The Hanging Judge,’ by Michael Ponsor

Hear ye, hear ye. All draw near for a novelty: a mystery whose main character is a federal district judge, written by one of the tribe. Michael Ponsor was appointed to the bench in western Massachusetts in 1994 by President Clinton. “The Hanging Judge” is his first novel, and Ponsor is a talent to watch.
