Health care cost in Massachusetts tops US average by 36%

Massachusetts residents see doctors more often than most other Americans and the cost is higher than in any other state, according to a new report that pegs per capita spending on health care in Massachusetts at 36 percent higher than the national average. The report by the state Health Policy Commission found that in addition to higher use of medical services, Massachusetts also has higher prices than the national average.
