Riverpark II, empty San Jose office tower, goes into default

The owner of the Riverpark II office tower in downtown San Jose has defaulted on a $44.1 million loan balance, after four years of carrying the high-profile property without a tenant. A notice of default was recorded Oct. 29 on the 16-story, 320,000-square-foot Class A building at 300 Park Ave., according to public records.
