An old sailor watched his old ship be decommissioned at Mayport Naval Station on Friday. When asked why he came, he said nothing, balled up his fist and thumped his chest with it one hard time. His name is Jack Parsons and he is only one of thousands of sailors who served aboard the USS Underwood in its 30 years of service.
