The Colorado Court of Appeals on Wednesday overturned a ruling that Teller County sheriff’s deputies are allowed to act as federal immigration officials to detain people in the country illegally. A major mortgage lender with offices across the country is cutting 187 more positions from its office in Greenwood Village after having announced the elimination of a total of 420 jobs in two previous rounds of layoffs. Newrez, based in Pennsylvania, said the latest layoffs will start Aug. 26 and will likely be permanent.
