The Atlantic Beach City Commission has approved a resolution to match a possible $17,000 grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District to develop access to publicly owned marshland. The measure gives City Manager Jim Hanson the go-ahead to apply for the grant. The money would be used to support new additions to the city’s preserve parks just east of the Intracoastal Waterway. Those additions would include expansion of public access to recreational and educational areas, including additional access for the disabled at the north end of Dutton Island Preserve.
