Drug store giant Walgreens is on the receiving end of a lawsuit by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for firing an employee at a South San Francisco store for eating a bag of chips to counter a diabetic attack. Josafina Hernandez, an 18-year employee of the drug store chain, ran afoul of the company's zero-tolerance "hands off the merchandise" policy when she ate a $1.39 bag of chips after her blood sugar began to drop.
