People are listing phones preloaded with TikTok for tens of thousands of dollars on eBay, Facebook marketplace and other online storefronts — though it is not clear if there are many buyers at those prices. TikTok was briefly unavailable to U. S. users over the weekend, but as of Sunday anyone who had previously downloaded it has been able to use it.

The change will ensure the business succeeds in the future, and the change follows nearly a decade of planning, according to a news release. A new five-member board will oversee operations, “including oversight of portfolio investment objectives, investment and business policies and risk management,” the release said. Bill Crown will serve as CEO and president and report to the board. Jim Crown, grandson of industrialist Henry Crown, was the chief executive of the family business but died in June 2023 in a car crash on a racing track in Colorado.

S. homes fell last year to a nearly 30-year low for the second time in as many years. Elevated mortgage rates, a yearslong shortage of homes on the market and record-high home prices continued to stymie prospective home shoppers, especially first-time buyers. That led existing home sales to fall 0.7% last year to 4.06 million — the weakest showing for home sales since 1995 and edging out the terrible year for sales in 2023, the National Association of Realtors said Friday.
