Associated PressDENVER — A man who was shot to death during a confrontation with a sheriff's deputy and a state wildlife officer in northwestern Colorado has been identified as 46-year-old James Brent Damon. The district attorney's office says Damon and 43-year-old Georgie Hand briefly held the deputy and the officer hostage before a struggle erupted and Damon was shot. Neither the deputy nor the wildlife officer was injured in the Monday confrontation near the small town of Dinosaur in northwestern Colorado, about 10 miles from the Utah border. Authorities have said the officer and the deputy were checking on a suspicious vehicle parked off the highway when they were briefly taken hostage.
