For the third year in a row the Collier County Sheriffs Office's family fun-filled event "Celebrating Safe Communities"  was hosted complete with demonstrations, bounce house, rock wall, food, games, superheroes and more. According to a CCSO press release: "Celebrating Safe Communities is designed to heighten crime prevention and drug prevention awareness; generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts; and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships." 

 

Collier schools update discrimination policy

The Collier County school district will now explicitly protect students and employees who are harassed or discriminated against based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
