Get This: Police officer delivers son in hotel parking lot

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — An Illinois police officer has delivered his son in a hotel parking lot.
The Rockford Register Star reports (http://bit.ly/2j16aTg) Rockford officer James Nachampassack was on duty early Sunday morning when his girlfriend called to say she was going to give birth. Nachampassack rushed home to find Phenh Thammavong screaming. He says her water had broken and she was going into labor.

Jameson Manor hosting party for Faces of Recovery

LIMA — Jameson Manor is hosting a party for “Faces of Recovery Art Project” from 4:30 to 7 :30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Jameson Manor, 1028 W. Market St., Lima.
Guests will be offered a mask to create a face of and/or for recovery. The masks will be displayed at St. Rita’s Medical Center and at The Meeting Place. Later, the masks will be displayed throughout the state of Ohio by the Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center.

Saturday’s schedule consists of a 9 a.m. breakfast at the church fellowship hall followed by breakout session with missionaries Steve & Javier with the men and Rebekah & Dana with the ladies. A 6:30 p.m. evening service features testimonies of each of the missionaries.

Sunday’s schedule includes the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school hour featuring Dana Kincaid sharing her ministry. The 10:30 worship service will follow with Javier sharing their ministry. There will be a noon lunch in the fellowship hall. A 1:30 p.m. service will feature the Rev. Steve Butler wrapping the conference up. There is no 6 p.m. service.

LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra is holding its 10th annual wine tasting event at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Kriegel Farm, 8280 Fort Amanda Road, Lima. Cost is $100 per person.
There will be wine tasting and auction.
