Evansville police on Tuesday announced that multiple arrests were made for the July 19 shooting death of Shane Breedlove, a popular local musician and DJ.

Sheriff's office warns of fake deputy phone scam

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a phone scam being attempted in the area.

A news release issued Monday afternoon warned of a caller claiming that someone in the household had a warrant for their arrest. The caller knew the correct name of the resident but was unable to provide any identifiable information. They then asked the victim to send money to an account through PayPal in order to "recall" the warrant.
