Iowa City West High students start celebrating Black History Month

IOWA CITY — Students Ruba Ahmed-Abdelmutalab, 16, and Nadeen Mohammad, 17, spent Friday afternoon decorating the main office doors of Iowa City West High School with an image of a Black woman with an Afro. On her shirt are pictures of Black historical figures, some with Iowa connections, in recognition of February as Black History Month.
