Iowa adds 834 coronavirus cases, 13 deaths on Tuesday

Iowa reported 834 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday as well as 13 new, confirmed deaths, according to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health.The new numbers, as of Tuesday at 11 a.m., bring the state’s totals to 320,340 cases and 4,919 deaths.The new cases come from 3,231 tests over the 24-hour period.NEW CASES

 

Affordable Care Act enrollment to reopen this month

Iowans will have another opportunity to sign up for health care coverage through the federal marketplace later this month.Late last month, President Joe Biden signed an executive order expanding access to the Affordable Care Act program by opening a special enrollment period for Americans to sign up for individual health insurance coverage through the federal marketplace.The enrollment period will be open Feb. 15 through May 15.

Coralville man charged with arson in connection to 2019 fire

A 36-year-old Coralville man was arrested Monday in connection to a fire investigators now believe was set intentionally.Dustin J. Corey, 36, now faces charges of first-degree arson, a Class B felony. After his arrest on Monday he was transported to the Johnson County Jail to await his initial appearance.
