Feierabend — Seitz

Rachel Feierabend and Dane Seitz, both of Portland, were married July 27 at the Seitz Ranch in Terrebonne. A reception followed.The bride is the daughter of Burdette Bowman of Sagle, Idaho, and the late Peter Feierabend.

 

Armstrong — Evert

Julie Armstrong and Sean Evert, both of Bend, were married Aug. 17 at Silver Moon Ranch in Bend. A reception followed.The future bride is the daughter of Gordon and Susan Armstrong, of Dundee, Scotland. She is a 2008 graduate of Delta Secondary School in Ladner, British Columbia, and a 2012 graduate of the University of Oregon, where she studied sociology.

 

Hunt — Rasmussen

Jessica Hunt and Juan Rasmussen, both of Jacksonville, Ore., were married Aug. 3 at The Riverhouse Hotel & Convention Center’s cascade garden in Bend. A reception followed in The Riverhouse ballroom.The bride is the daughter of Cathy (and Mike) Williams, of La Pine, and Rod Hunt, of Bend.

Today: wheelchair and more drive

Volunteers with St. Charles Bend will be collecting used wheelchairs, canes, crutches and walkers in any condition during an annual wheelchair drive from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. today at the hospital’s parking lot, 2500 N. E.

 

Ignite Bend seeks presentations

Ignite Bend organizers seek presentation proposals for the 11th iteration of the popular storytelling series, which returns to the Tower Theatre in Bend on Oct. 23.The Ignite format allows each speaker five minutes to amuse, educate and enlighten audiences with a prepared slide presentation.

 

Galveston Bridge to reopen on time

The city of Bend announced Friday the Galveston Bridge will re-open as scheduled on Tuesday.The bridge was originally scheduled to remain closed through Oct.

 

Horseback rider airlifted from trail

A horseback rider who was injured off the Cascade Lakes Highway on Friday was flown to safety in an Oregon Army National Guard helicopter.Rhonda Glasser, 55, from Eugene, was riding with family and friends on a trail between Horse Lake and Mirror Lake at around 12:30 p. m. when her horse kicked up a hornet’s nest.

 

City casts net for accessibility panel

There are multiple openings on the City of Bend Accessibility Advisory Committee, and the city is seeking applications from people who would like to volunteer for the positions.Committee members assist and advise the city on the “most appropriate means to make programs, services, activities and facilities accessible to Bend’s citizens," according to a city news release.
