The plywood ramp leading up to David Bridwell's house was coated in a thin layer of ice Wednesday morning as melting water dripped from his roof.
Until recently, he was sleeping in a tent beneath the carport at his Rose City home, with two space heaters and a tarp as a shield from the wind.
Bridwell and Luanne Clymire were able to move back into his partially repaired living room before this week's bitter cold front came through, though the house is far from finished.
"It got too cold, we couldn't take it anymore," said Clymire.
