BLOUNTVILLE — Some Northeast State Community College students will have childcare assistance while attending school, thanks to a federal grant. The two-year school has received a four-year, $729,000 federal grant to assist low-income students with preschool childcare expenses, and the program is expected to launch in January 2019. NSCC plans to partner with local daycare providers who have a 3-star rating — the highest available — under the Tennessee Department of Human Services’ Child Care Report Card and Star Quality Program.
