Catalayuna F1 Circuit Signs Contract Extension Until 2019

GRANOLLERS, Spain (AP) — The Catalunya circuit will continue to host races until 2019 after signing a three-year contract extension. The track, which is located on the outskirts of Barcelona and is also used for pre-season testing, will host its 25th race this weekend. Circuit chief Vicenc Aguilera says "we are extremely proud to announce this renewal in such a special year" and that "we look forward to the next 25 years." McLaren driver Fernando Alonso was the last Spanish driver to win a race here in 2013, when driving for Ferrari.
