Body Found In Augusta Canal

Officials are attempting identify a man who was found floating in a canal near the Augusta Judicial Center on Tuesday. About 11:23 a.m., first responder were called to the scene near the judicial center parking lot off 9th Street, where the body was seen near one of the canal banks. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim, who was retrieved from water by the Augusta Fire Department just before 1 p.m. read more
