BookTeller Booth at ANCCS & Drupal Showcase

BookTeller Booth at ANCCS & Drupal Showcase

This past couple weeks, I was involved in a couple marketing initiatives for BookTeller.com. First, there was an event for a Chinese School association that I had to prep for since we had a booth there. That took up most of my time for the past three weeks. Second, there was a write-up I wanted to do for the Drupal Showcase on Drupal.org.

Nice! You Can Now Stream Netflix Movies Thru the Wii

I just received a nice surprise in my email today. It's an email from Netflix telling me that it's now possible for me to stream movies through my Nintendo Wii console. They're sending me a CD this Friday that would allow me to do that.

This Site Has Ads; It Must be Rolling in the Dough

This Site Has Ads; It Must be Rolling in the Dough

Like I mentioned in the Ebert article, I've been testing out ad networks on subpages of Wopular for the past couple months. I don't want to put any ads on the main channel pages until I've settled into something; also, I want to reserve those pages for premium sponsorships.

The Ebert Club & Other Other Alternatives to the Banner Ad

The Ebert Club & Other Other Alternatives to the Banner Ad

I watched Roger Ebert's interview on Oprah the other day where he revealed his new computerized voice put together by processing audio commentaries he did for DVDs. I went to his blog to see if he had anything to add, like he did for the Esquire article. Instead of a reaction entry, I got an entry inviting me to join The Ebert Club, which cost $4.99 for the year for some value-added services.

Here's The First Thing I Did for BookTeller.com, a Website with Animated Children's Books

As I mentioned at the beginning of the year, I've started working for BookTeller.com, a website that offers animated children's books with voice-over narration for a monthly subscription fee. It's a great educational tool for parents and teachers to teach kids how to read.

Loving Google Buzz So Far

Some features just make sense. Google Buzz is one of them. It's nothing new really. It's just Twitter integrated within GMail, and with commenting, it looks a lot like Facebook.

Now I Know Why People Don't Put MySpace in the Corner

Now I Know Why People Don't Put MySpace in the Corner

On most websites nowadays, you'll see somewhere on the page, usually at the top right corner, links to the site's RSS feed, Twitter account, and Facebook fanpage. I've always wondered why MySpace, being the second largest social networking site by far, isn't on that list.

Prime Time Women

Prime Time Women

Last December, Alexa launched a new feature on their site - demographics. It measures the relative age, education, and gender of a site's users. It also measures where those users are browsing a site from (home, school, or work), and whether or not those users have children which is an odd statistic.

For Returning to The Tonight Show, Jay Leno is Selfish, Dishonest, and a Little Sneaky

For Returning to The Tonight Show, Jay Leno is Selfish, Dishonest, and a Little Sneaky

First, I'm a fan of Jay Leno. I watched his show all the time. He seemed like a nice guy, soft around the edges. Leno's been saying all along that he accepted the offer to return as host of The Tonight Show to save his staff from being unemployed; and he only did it after Conan had decided to leave. The Tonight Show was/is his dream job. It was Conan's too.
