Oh, man. Here's early Friday box office report on MoviesWithButter.com:

Apparently, no one told the critics that there’s a review embargo on “Fantastic Four” until it opens this Friday. On Rotten Tomatoes, over twenty critics have ignored the embargo so far. And the early word is terrible. At 12% -- and it’s still early -- it’s even worse than the poorly received originals.

Early last week, Tom Cruise’s latest adventure “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” was tracking to open in the $40M range and Ed Helms’ latest comedy “Vacation” in the $30 range by the end of the week. “Vacation” stumbled on opening day with $3.8M last Wednesday.

I saw a promotional screening of Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation” on Monday, and here’s a quote from my first impression on MWB: “I like a film that gives you more just when you thought you’ve already gotten the best it has to offer. I also like that the stunts look realistic and not CGI-assisted. There are excitement and creativity in these sequences. It’s not the kind of computer generated mass mayhem you see often nowadays in comic book movies.”

I put up three new articles on our sister site MoviesWithButter.com. Two of them are about the weekend box office, which “Paper Towns” made interesting. The other one is about the early reviews for the new “Mission: Impossible” film starring Tom Cruise.

Just a few hours after New York Magazine put up their elaborate cover story on the Bill Cosby accusers, their site went down -- possibly due to the immense media attention brought on by the cover and the article, which contains photographs, videos, and testimonies from the 35 women.

I started noticing it when I saw mentions on my Twitter feed a few hours ago. At the time, I was still able to access the page, but only for a few minutes before the whole site became inaccessible.

I didn’t realize Business Insider does sports, until I saw a link to an article on Yahoo’s homepage titled “LeBron James referenced a 4-month-old Kevin Love quote in a tweet, and the fallout is getting absurd.”

I’m been fixing a bunch of broken feeds since the new year. It started with CNN, which launched a redesign at the beginning of the year. At the time, all of their RSS feeds were broken as a result of that (more about this later). Since they’re the second largest news site on the web, behind Yahoo! News, I still wanted to show them on the site.

Around April, my VPS provider Linode announced that they’ve just finished a major $45M upgrade to their hardware and network, which means free upgrades for their existing users. The new hardware uses SSD RAID drives and faster CPUs. I hadn’t bothered because Wopular and Movies With Butter have been relatively stable.
