The adage about quarterback competitions might apply to NBA rivalries, too.
If you have two, you have none.
And evidently, the Nuggets have two. That’s according to the league, which scheduled 10 games in a five-day window to be advertised as “NBA Rivals Week.” Denver is featured in a pair of those games: Tuesday against the 76ers at Ball Arena, and Saturday afternoon against the Timberwolves in Minneapolis.
Tenth-year Nuggets coach Michael Malone isn’t buying any of it.
“What do you mean, ‘rivalry week?’ Is that what this is?” he asked before the Philadelphia game, before offering a sarcastic quote: “Really stoked.”
Malone went on to say he has never viewed any opponent as a rival during his Nuggets tenure, including the Sixers and the Wolves.
“It’s so hard because the landscape of the NBA has changed,” he said.

Let’s be honest: There is no perfect substitute for eggs.
That may be why their steady rise in price not only hurts in the budget, but also somewhere in the soul. The crackly, golden wisps around the edges of a fried egg? The golden orb of yolk in a jammy boiled egg?

Lakewood agents, along with Golden and Denver police officers on the Colorado Metropolitan Auto Theft Task Force, tracked the man to an apartment complex near West Colfax Avenue and Pierce Street, near Casa Bonita and an Arc Thrift Store.
Police made contact with the man at around 4:15 p.m.
The Colorado Avalanche has hit a snag on its potential climb to the top of the Central Division, and the most surprising part is what’s currently the biggest issue.
When the Avs stumbled to a 14-13 start, there were two obvious culprits: the goaltending and the injuries. When Colorado has struggled in recent seasons, it’s often been a lull in the performance without the puck.
But an unlikely obstacle has popped up after this Avs team looked ready to take off with a 10-2 run and two new goaltenders.

The move announced Tuesday reverses guidance that for over a decade has restricted two key federal immigration agencies — Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection — from carrying out immigration enforcement in sensitive locations.
“This action empowers the brave men and women in CBP and ICE to enforce our immigration laws and catch criminal aliens — including murderers and rapists — who have illegally come into our country.
Denver will soon open its newest park after the city announced a plan to acquire the 155-acre Park Hill Golf Course, a long-debated property in northeast Denver.
The city will give a plot of land it owns near Denver International Airport to the former golf course’s owners, Westside Investment Partners, in exchange for the future park, Mayor Mike Johnston said earlier this month.
Denver Parks and Recreation plans to open the area to the public this summer but will continue to develop amenities there after soliciting input from the community about what residents want to see in the space.
