A 78-year-old Aiken County man was fatally shot by his wife, authorities said this morning. According to Coroner Tim Carlton, William A. Todd, of Maggie Valley Lane, Beech Island, was pronounced dead at the scene about 5:15 a.m. The shooting followed a long-standing domestic dispute between the victim and his wife, who was not identified, Carlton said in a statement. An autopsy will take place later today.
