For more than a month, residents in an Augusta neighborhood have seen a lost sheep wondering the streets. On Sunday, police caught up with this sheep on the run, bringing it back to its owner safe and sound. [Subscribe to our free morning newsletter and get the latest headlines in your inbox] According to a post on the Augusta Police Department’s Facebook page, the “escaped” sheep was “taken into custody today.” The Hummingbird Lane neighborhood has been catching glimpses of this runaway sheep. [Maine police catch ‘unruly’ runaway pig along Interstate 95] Despite theses sightings, Augusta’s animal control officer came “within a couple of ‘yarns’ of catching it,” the police post said. Thankfully, Brenda Pinkham and her husband, who own an alpaca farm, snared the sheep for police to bring back home.
