The summer’s most popular history-related film is Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Oppenheimer, about the theoretical physicist and atomic bomb mastermind J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie comes 78 years after the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, respectively, killing an estimated more than 200,000 people.
