A sacred city where the rivers Ganges, Yamuna , and the mythical Saraswathi (the River of Enlightenment) meet. Every twelve years Kumbh Mela is held when millions take bath in the Sangam(confluence). Its pre-Islamic name of Prayaaga (Prayaga, or Prayag in modern Hindi) is still sometimes used.
