The $75,000 went largely to the local Meals on Wheels program, which provides meal delivery to about 300 people who can't leave their homes, said Robert Lopez, executive director of the Comal County Senior Citizens Foundation. Along with those grants, Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio awarded $1 million in scholarships to students going into health careers and $173,820 in mini grants “to 31 organizations that support grass-roots health activities,” according to a news release.
