Two women were sentenced for engaging in organized criminal activity that prosecutors have said is linked to a Mexican cartel. Tushuna Shardanae Espy, 24, and Jacqueline Zuniga, 37, pleaded guilty last week to the charge, which was connected to a separate investigation into a methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking ring with ties to the Gulf Cartel. Espy was sentenced to a $2,500 fine and eight years in state prison, and Zuniga received a $2,000 fine and seven years in prison, court records show. read more
