The Yankees’ youth movement remains in full swing, with top prospects Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells set to be called up next. Dominguez, a 20-year-old outfielder, and Wells, a 24-year-old catcher, are expected to join the team Friday for the team’s road series against the Houston Astros, according to the YES Network. Both will be making their MLB debuts. Nicknamed “The Martian” for his out-of-this-world physical tools, the Dominican-born Dominguez signed a franchise-record $5.1 million signing bonus to join the Yankees in 2019. Dominguez only recently advanced to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but has been red-hot ever since, batting .419 with 10 RBI in his first nine games. The call-ups come less than two weeks after the Yankees added 22-year-old outfielder Everson Pereira and 23-year-old infielder Oswald Peraza to their MLB roster. The Yankees are in last place in American League East and entered Wednesday 11 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot. ()
