CEDAR RAPIDS — “Dozens and dozens” of cats were taken from a mobile home Friday and transferred to Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control for treatment after their owner voluntarily surrendered them.Police Capt. Steve O’Konek said Animal Care and Control workers and volunteers will work into the night and through the weekend to remove the cats from a home in Summit View Village in southwest Cedar Rapids.The shelter will be closed this weekend as workers evaluate the cats, which will be kept separate from other shelter animals, he said.
