The Broncos might have fallen short Sunday at Baltimore, but they got a big piece of business done the day before.
Denver and outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper agreed to a four-year contract extension over the weekend, the team announced Monday.
Multiple sources told The Post the deal is worth up to $60 million and comes with $33 million in guarantees.
Cooper and the team finalized the deal in Maryland and Cooper signed the paperwork at the team hotel Saturday, a source said.
The contract is a deserved one for the 2021 seventh-round draft pick, who is playing the best football of his career and is in the final year of his rookie contract.
News of the extension broke minutes after Denver traded fellow outside linebacker and fellow 2021 draft pick Baron Browning to Arizona for a sixth-round pick.
“I think obviously with a guy like ‘Coop,’ we value him so highly for what he does, both in the pass and the run game,” defensive lineman Zach Allen told reporters Monday.
The Broncos are making moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline after all.

DE John Franklin-Myers: The Broncos didn’t have a lot going for them defensively on Sunday. Franklin-Myers, however, continued to show his value. After an interception gave the Ravens the ball in scoring position on their opening drive, the defensive end sacked quarterback Lamar Jackson for an 11-yard loss, knocking them out of field goal range.
