MIAMI — Observations and other notes of interest from Sunday’s 128-107 victory over the San Antonio Spurs: – For weeks, even months, Jimmy Butler has been asking to be surrounded by something better. – Sunday, Butler had a front-row seat to something better. – Granted, it was against a sub-.500 opponent. – But once the Heat moved to a big lineup that had Kel’el Ware alongside Bam Adebayo, it was as if energy had been pumped back into the Heat season. – Energy that had been deflated by Butler’s season of discontent. – Does this change anything with Butler? – Probably not. – He is who he is. – And there still is the matter of that contract extension that Pat Riley wouldn’t offer. – And that Butler no longer seemingly will accept. – But if the Heat can play big, if they can get this type of 3-point shooting at moments of truth, if Terry Rozier and Nikola Jovic can anchor the bench .
