Wilmington Rejects Tax Refund Requests

WILMINGTON -- Wilmington businesses should not expect any refunds from the city for privilege licenses taxes paid this year. On Tuesday, a united city council rejected a $26,006.31 refund request from Belk, a clear sign Wilmington intends to keep revenue collected this year. The state eliminated privilege taxes for businesses after July 1, 2015.
