Will Nc Change How Judges Are Selected?

A state Senate panel today discussed a proposal designed to change how judges in North Carolina are selected to move toward a mixture of appointment and election. According to the News & Observer, the new system would have the governor select judges for Superior Court and the appellate courts from two nominees selected by a nominating committee.
