A man was killed in a shooting on Thanksgiving Day at an apartment complex in Lauderdale Lakes, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Somerset Drive. Paramedics pronounced the adult man dead there, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Thursday evening. Deputies have detained one person, and Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives are investigating.

The Miami Dolphins have elected not to activate edge rusher Shaq Barrett from the reserve/retired list, the South Florida Sun Sentinel has confirmed, meaning Barrett won’t be eligible to play this season. President-elect Donald Trump — did not make clear who had offered what. “There will be no potential tariff war,” Sheinbaum said flatly when asked about the issue at her daily morning news briefing. On Wednesday, Trump wrote that Sheinbaum had agreed to stop unauthorized migration across the border into the United States.
