Why Tesla Stock Jumped Tuesday

Shares of electric-car company Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) popped on Tuesday, rising as much as 7.5%. As of 11:14 a.m. EDT, the stock was up 5.6%.The stock's rise comes after the electric-car company scheduled its earnings report about a week earlier than usual with just two days' notice, leading to some speculation that the automaker may have achieved its goal to become profitable during the quarter.
