Students who graduated from Capital Region-area colleges and universities in 2016 left with an average debt load of anywhere from $21,217 to $35,874, according to a Times Union analysis of data from the 2015-16 school year. On the high end was Siena College, a private school in Loudonville, and on the low end was the University at Albany, a public institution.Three other private schools joined Siena in producing graduates with a debt load above $30,346 — the statewide average that year.
