West Milford School Board To Pay Out $1,000 After Running Afoul Of Opra

According to New Jersey Government Records Council records, the West Milford school board failed to respond to a request for records within the seven-business-day limit in May 2015. That effective denial resulted in a complaint that the district spent around $900 litigating, Board of Education President James Foody said. As a result of the GRC ruling, the district will pay another $1,000 to the complainant, Foody said, adding that the situation could have been avoided.
