A well-known central Texas doctor was killed Thursday in southern Colorado when he fell while climbing the Crestone Needle in Custer County. Dr. Matt Davis fell on a technical route that leads up to a 14,203-foot summit, the county sheriff's office said. Authorities say Davis had ties in the Colorado town of Westcliffe, but did not elaborate. The county sheriff's office says it took two days to extricate Davis' body because of steep and rocky conditions in the area where he fell. Click here to read more.
