Water Crisis Blows $100,236 Hole In Troy Budget

The first quarter report allows officials to track revenue and expenses showing the financial impact of such events as the Lansingburgh water main break that cut service for a week, which cost the city $100,236 in lost revenue from Waterford and Halfmoon. Mantello's report is in response to the state comptroller's office audit earlier this year, in the wake of its annual review of the city budget, warning that the city can't continue with its budgetary practices. For the same period its expenses were $18,321,899 as it dealt with Troy Municipal Assistance Corp.
